From beauticians and barbers to designers and dog groomers, the Princes Trust helps young people by supporting them with a fantastic package of training and funding.
ASDA and George Home work with the Princes Trust by helping to nurture new and talented designers to get valuable training and experience in the field.
In 2015 George Home asked CODA to design a mini lookbook for two of their Princes Trust designers to profile the ranges and products they had developed together. It was a completely open brief with one simple task, create impact.
Right at the start of the project we decided the device had to be different, to stand out and have the impact the George Home team required.
After several prototypes and a couple of cut fingers, we created something unusual and very different. It was a concertina device incorporated in to an outer folded cover.
We went on to further the unusual look by using GF Smith colorplan ‘Mandarin’ a beautiful and striking paper for the cover/folder and a white foiling with subtle embossing of the text and cover of the folder.
The design of the concertina section was innovative in that each side of the concertina which could be flipped either way was a profile for each designer.
The mini lookbook went down a storm when it was used at a press launch for the new Princes Trust product ranges and PR coverage in National Press, Home Magazines and Home Supplements has been very successful with many publications doing editorial featuring the designers products.
