Needle creates classic luxury designer knitwear for women with a contemporary edge.
Our brief was to create a strong online presence for Needle that not only conveyed the luxury and high quality nature of their product, but also enabled customers to buy the products online. The logo and brand was already set, so our job was to develop this into a stylish website to help increase traffic, monitor online activity and ultimately increase sales.
With Needle we had access to great striking imagery and professional photography. The lifestyle model shots and products looked fantastic so we decided this would be the single most important thing when we started the design of the website – let the product shots speak for themselves. We combined the excellent photography with the use of a large, chunky modern white-out font with short snappy messages to provide a simple yet striking way of getting across key messages.
CODA designed the website against white with the subtle introduction of pastel colours which change with each new season to sit comfortably with the imagery. A flexible colour palette was also important to keep the website and product ranges looking fresh and also meant that we could change the brand enough to mirror the time of year, something which we thought was important when working with clothing which splits in to Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.
Website sales and regular customer orders have steadily grown whilst Needle has also expanded their ranges in to new boutiques and each season sees the ranges and sales develop further. Have a look at the site here – you may decide you deserve a treat!
